Meet the Founder

I’m Franky Morales‑Addae (he/him). I guide this work as someone who had to learn how to feel safe in his body again.

For years, my body was a place of bracing. I moved through the world in survival mode, waiting for the next impact. Soulful Soma grew from my need to set that weight down. I had to learn how to soften into presence and how to hold joy without the fear of losing it.

My practice is built on four years of deep study, centered on 200+ hours of Somatic Embodiment training. This is the heart of my work—understanding the nervous system not as a machine to be fixed, but as a landscape to be tended.

I integrate my 300+ hours of Yoga and meditation training as essential supports for this process. I don't use these tools to perfect a pose or silence the mind—I use them to build capacity. Yoga offers the structural grounding we need to feel safe enough to feel, while meditation refines our ability to listen to the body’s subtle signals. Together, they create a container strong enough to hold the deep release work we do in session.

I view this work as a living practice, not a static destination. I remain a dedicated student of the body, constantly evolving my methods as I learn more.

My authority is rooted in this ongoing growth, but it is defined by the lineage I carry. As a Black, Queer, Xicanx, and system-impacted man, my work honors the specific load our communities carry. I don't just know the theory of safety; I know the necessity of it. This is a relationship that doesn’t ask you to explain your pain to be met with care.

This practice was created especially with Black queer men in mind, but it welcomes anyone seeking a more honest connection to their body. Soulful Soma is a practice ground. It is where breath, memory, and movement come together to tell the truth. We are not here to force a cure. We are here to make room for what has been held so we can begin to tell a new story of living.
